WESTSIDE KINSHIP SUPPORT PROGRAM

Raising Your Grandchild? Sibling? Cousin? Nephew? Niece?

We invite you to attend our Kinship Program site in San Bernardino County!

Share the joys and frustrations of raising a kin-child with "folks who understand"!

ABOUT THE KIN-CAREGIVER:

Kin-caregivers step-in to raise extended family member's children who are separated from or have lost their parents.  Kin-caregivers often have special needs linked to age, poverty, poor health, social isolation, and inadequate access to information and services.

OUR PROGRAM:

Westside Kinship Support Services focuses on the unique needs of each Kin-caregiver and child by providing referrals to basic services, support from others who've "been there", and time-off from daily stresses.  It's a principle that works for caregivers and their children.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide a safe, nourishing environment that educates and encourages caregivers.  To develop support systems that will promote their endeavor to provide a stable home for the young lives in their care.

VISION:

Not one caregiver who has opened their heart and their home will ever feel alone and helpless in their desire to guide their relative children through the maze of life.  Caregivers will come to know there is a place they can go to receive help, understanding, rest and relief from their daily journey of care giving.  HOPE is found at Westside Kinship Support Services Program.

SUPPORT GROUPS:

Support Groups are held weekly on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am.  Respite Breakfast for the caregivers (adults only) takes place at a local restaurant the second Tuesday of each month.  Evening Support Groups are held on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm.  We offer fun and educational activities (field trips) for youth and independent living skills for teens.

Kin-caregivers living in San Bernardino and surrounding areas (Colton, Highland, Redlands, Loma Linda and Yucaipa and other areas) are encouraged and welcome to join our team!   Give us a call today and one of our caring staff members will be happy to give you more information about our program.  Services are provided at:
